Philosophically Ugly.

Time: 12:23pm

Location: menzies, Com class

de Botton: it is the interaction between chaos and order that creates beauty.
taking the example of a floor board. you can control its shape and size but you can't control the chaotic patterns on the wood, and its the chaos that brings out the character of the floorboard, that makes it exquisite.

got me thinking. I'm chaos wrapped in chaos (as in not having the pencil thin body which appears to be the norm of the society)... I'm even philosophically ugly. ish.

Missing Hails.

Time: 7:14pm
Date: 24 August, 2010.
Location: Matheson Lib, Clayton.

So many days/nights spent here and I've never been to this section before. Thanks for stumbling upon it =)

Anyways, yea, it's always a little daunting opening up your life to someone else... coz the experience can go either way. If it's anything like the bright-old me wearing a pair of feet bearing slippers in the middle of winter coz i woke up feeling like it...

something like this, only cuter.

maybe not the wisest idea to walk outa the halls without checking the temperature. The numbing pain you feel every time a breeze blew by... and not to mention the need to look down every few seconds to check if your toes have fallen off.

and owh, it hailed and I missed it AGAIN?! wth... should be outdoors more often. ish.

and yea, wooot!! scored a ticket to watch a fweee fooooty match this Sunday!
...really need to start working on THAT assignment man.

Also, everyone's been sick AGAIN for the past few days. something's going around on campus and it aint goooood. ...Please nose... don't keep running away from me...

on a totally unrelated note, found this and hell it's hilarious!

... in a slightly morally questionable and sadistic way.

p.s.: music of the moment: Imogen Heap's Say Goodnight and Go

pp.s.: thanks for being there yday. It's like everyday I just voluntarily walk into shyts... tubs and tubs of them laying around which are totally avoidable but really... I think I see a pattern after 22 years...

Your House

Time: 1:50pm

Date: 19 August 2010
Location: Comp Lab, Howitt

Been listening to Alanis Morissette again. lol, she was the best new artist of 1996. it was so long ago.

anyways, I always thought this song is so eerily pretty... you can almost feel the pain in her voice. the Live version doesn't do justice the haunting voice she has in the recorded version.. just her naked voice, without accompaniments.

3.23pm (Menzies Basement)

So I went to that european studies tute.. we were talking about Welfare State and how it was so successfully implemented that it imploded into a blackhole emitting its paradoxes and stuff. The state had so much control over its people that they even went as bold as to attempted to implement eugenics in a functioning society.

anyway, that's not the point. We were talking about how kids in Holland were actually paid to pursue their tertiary education on the condition that they actually finish the course within 10 years. Not really sure if they meant Bachelor, Masters or PHD. We were divided into groups of 3/4 and in my group there was this girl called Blair... Then someone brought up the whole issue of immigrants having the same access to the benefits (btw, watched Chaser's Yes, we Canberra yday -- Julia's Big sustainable Australia... not so farny now from where i'm standing). there weren't many non-locals in the room and I was one of them.. Normally people would feel awkward coz having international students around and talking about issues regarding immigration... This girl called Blair was making eye contacts when she speaks and didnt shift her gaze away from mine when she was saying it. The strange thing is I didnt feel like she's trying to put me down nor was she being intentionally unsensitive.

meh, just found it interesting. back to work.

7:25pm (Matheson Lib)

yea, determined to stay in uni till late. got chased outa menzies basement's comp lab short after that entry. ish.

zomg, uncanny. we were talking about eco boom in europe today led to the production of citroen DS (which sounded like goddess in French) and alongside the need of better infrastructure, in the 50s. India faces similar problems.. 60 years later that is.

An URGH day.

Time: 3:42pm
Date: 11 Aug 2010
Location: Menzies' basement, Clayton.

WTH. today's a stick in the butt day.

went to the post office and met this guy who wanna send a pair of shades to the states and refuses to fill in the custom declaration form. hey buddy, I don't make up the rules. it's not like I have nothing o do and ask you to fill u the form for FUN argh? sigh!! In his defense, I thought all his parcels are going to USA so i handed him 3 forms instead of 1. He threw a hissy fit and said something like I don't wanna fill up this bullshit and that my post office in Oakleigh never asked him to fill up the form. WTF man. As long as u're posting non-documents oversea, you'll HAVE TO declare it. wth. and Toan thought I did something wrong and shot me that disappointing glance, saying "aiyo Jun, please wake up...".

WTF. I admit that I screwup a lot in almost all aspects of my life but really, felt the chunk of anger stuck in my throat that I so depesrately wanna put out by shoving it down. If there's an award of the most aspects of life that you can screwup award, I would SO pwn that. anyways, thinking that things would be better when i'm in Monash Club.

Seriously, Teena, my supervisor, so to speak, was not in a good mood today... seriously!! I dont think she trust me anymore.. in making coffee and shyt. sigh!!! plus, i duno... really feel like... nvm.

Luckily you woke me up, if not there'd be toan kick starting my list of stick-up-butt-sies. Been spending so much time with you... I am so seeing a drew back syndrome coming........

SIGH!!! Why is everything so URGHHHH today?!?!?!?!??!

ps. OWW is going on. pretty awesome so far =)

Freudian slips.

Time: 4:17pm
Date: 5 August 2010
Location: Computer lab, Campus center.

lol. today's pretty ok.

as in... no silent angry phone calls, no guilt-ridden grins through the filtering lenses of webcam, no misleading messages on msn.. today's a sorta peaceful day.

so Sarah went back to malaysia and please remind me to ask her to buy that blue 0.5 pilot Rexgrip pen.

anyways, lectures today are actually quite enjoyable. lol. cant believe that I'm saying that but, owh well.

I found a wake up call buddy in order to initiate the are-you-awake-yet checking system. Was really efficient until someone overslept and missed his 8-9, 9-10 lectures and the other person instinctively close the windows of the 2 naked alarm clocks without even waking up. if Freud is right, man, my subconscious is awesomely powderful!

so yea, went to Baker's Post Conflict class and heard all about his wonderful adventure in search of the family who helped his mother during the Holocaust, only to have his mom tell him that he found the wrong place. anyways, he went to this house behind a cherry tree and this couple served him Pierogi, some Russian food which he described as "dim sim, to put into Australian context". Everyone laughed. but really... Dim Sim isn't ven from Australia. I laughed.

LoL. the story sounded better in the lecture.

Then I went to that Comm and Creativity tute and the tutor was a little fired up coz this guy does not agree to Freud's idea of joke, dreams and slips. According to the tutor (whose name I still duno) Freud relates these dreams, jokes and slips to the unconscious using metaphors and association, like the Famillionaire joke. He used this example to explain incongruent materials and how it's funny. Like by saying, John is a Pig, the metaphors signifies a drastically different ideas that are associated to common idea of pigs, as compare to the literal animal pig. Firstly, I really do now get how a surrealist painting can be seen as a joke. secondly, some jokes are intentional. Not all jokes are like Freudian Slips.

Anyways, there was this once we were making fun of Toan and stuff. I said Toan's as handsome as Prince Charles. like DUDE, this is HILARIOUS k?

because by saying that someone is as handsome as a Prince, someone might immediate draw images of Gustav looking, Derek Shepherd lookalikes... but Prince Charles, as people commonly know, does not conform the the stereotype?

... lol. so tired of explaining. and yes, explaining about the joke does sucks the fun outa it.

ish. late for meeting. byeeee.

p/s: *edited* 4.33pm, just received a heartfelt congratulatory message from my parents... swt...
