There are many things in life that I just don’t understand.
There’s some dark movies like the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) by Michel Gondry.
There’s my line of thought that I don’t understand. Sometimes I just don’t know WHY I freaking say things that are stupid and other times I’m just being stupid for spike.
I still remember in last sem, during FTV 1050 I was so happy caused I thought we were watching Big Fish but instead we watched Small Fish, by an indie film maker in Australia.
There was a saying that went like this: “every Tim Burton’s movie is a success” and another one was “Tim Burton is the best sci-fi director ever”.
I didn’t listen and NOW I know. I’m always late. Kind of wonder WHY I was born in 1988. I missed out so many historical events! Like Kurt Cobain’s death, Smashing Pumpkin’s golden era (the comeback’s not really as great), I missed the era of PUSA and when the whole deal about disco dancing was stuff like agogo, twist and innocent stuff (like in Grease).
Anyway, there’s something about this movie which I find the description in imdb.com is totally unjust. Yes yes, they talked about how the plot of the story is but didn’t warn me about how scary it was. It’s not those boring Ju-On scary, just plain chilly, in my opinion that is.
There’s something about the unpredictability of the father and doubts about the experiences of this great Edward Bloom that is a little frightening, exciting yet with the element of surprise, I find it quite different from other sci-fi movies.
I’ve actually watched this movie for the 2nd time now. The first was in Cameron Highlands where mom and I were busy preparing the food when dad and bro munched away. So I didn’t quite get the whole story and was really confused with the ending. And that was the night that bro let me sleep in a double bed room ALONE with the windows and toilet doors open…
Another thing, Ewan McGregor looked less gay compare to the role in Moulin Rouge. Hehe.
I watched a couple of movies these 2 days (after handing in my long overdue assignment, quit judging me already) and it’s just me on a normal day during SAM. Haizz… I miss SAM.
Another good movie I watched was The Machinist. Other than feeling being thin and paranoia is freaking scary, I understand why many famous runway models are hard to live with.
I was like ‘who is this scarily good lead actor?”
To find out that He’s Christian Bale.
How could THAT be the ever handsome batman that I loved and adored??!!
He should be deeply appreciated for his role by giving him an Oscar or something!
I’ve heard of this movie a few years back actually, saw it in a pirated stall but that uncle said he’s out of stock. Good la, can save RM 5.
The thing about this movie is it reminded me of my beloved Brad Pitt’s Fight Club. The difference about this psycho thriller is that he didn’t become big and successful as Edward Norton. That Ivan guy is EVIL I tell you. Although I possess a more evil type of laughter, there’s a kind of momentum in his voice that is artificial, scary and funny altogether. Deep, I know.
The element of suspense is there. When Trevor Reznik finally woke up, it’s like the whole vague world just collapsed, which is unpredictable, which is good. They actually filmed Christian before he undergo his celebrity mega slim down into a 121 pounds and reducing, bony and fleshless Ivan Kong looking guy.
Sorry, it’s not an insult. You looked like a star. It’s Christian Bale for crying out loud.
It’s a dark film. I noticed. Not much color can be found in his vague world except for that imaginary ivan’s red car and the theme park. So it sets the tone and mood of the story. Like everyone can imagine to not being a comedy from the beginning.
Speaking of comedy, I finally watched High School Musical 2!! Haha, thank you, whoever you are who shared it on xsocam. Comedy and crap movies are my favorite genres. So with Scrubs, That 70’s Show’s lame joke and Scary Movie’s plot and American Pie’s way of degrading women and Voila~ A GREAT MOVIE.
I watched quite some junks. This includes the classic Hot Shots! and the Chinese Lady Iron Chef. Rubbish I tell you!! Fun rubbish I mean. Seriously, they be able to pick up my mood if I were down. Seriously!!
