If you're anything like me who is currently lost after the previous season of TV series left you with no directions but have not actually caught on with the new season... AND you've exhausted your back up series such as Downton Abbey for me =p.. Try Misfits! I've given it a try and loved it!
It's Heroes... but the Brit's version is way WAY better. If you're into stuff like Skins (season 1 & 2), think you'll love this too =)
There's heaps of dead people, swearing, travelling back in time, blood splatters, disgusting blowing the brains out humour... was a little off putting initially but grew to be a little more intriguing as you catch on..~

Sucker for Epic Love Stories...
Location: my room, @home.
erm... i know it's a little late but...
lol... jz been slacking around and couldn't bring my lazy arse to write something meaningful to commemorate the memorable day that is the beginning of 2009.
For one, i think it's a cliche to be doing what everyone around the globe is doing at the same, but again, I'm breathing and wearing clothes... so much for individuality there.
So, I just watched the movie that everyone's buzzing about,The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, adaption from F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel by the same name.
Atleast E! entertainment is... =)
I'm lucky enough to acquire the longer version, that is the (close to) 3 hours version. I assume that the commercial version (the ones shown in cinemas) would come to around 2 or 2 and a half hours.
This movie, unlike many other adaptations, made me wanna read the book coz it's so nicely done though it was quite dull at the beginning of the story. I guess it was because the director was trying to introduce the character and MAKE you fall in love with the weird wrinkly older (and more innocent) version of Brad Pitt.
In short, I really enjoyed this movie and started tearing up during the last half an hour of the movie... Partly because I'm (deep, DEEP down...) a romantic and a sucker for epic love stories (like The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger)... they kinda serves as a reminder that true, out the the world EPIC love do exist... somewhere... somehow...
I'm not a conventional idealist but I do believe in miracles...

Teeth (2007)
Yessssh~ back in the Towers.. AGAIN~ I really really really MISSSSS this room.
Ok, for those who watched Teeth (2007) it's totally confusing. SO, it's a horror film. It's not only a horror movie, it's a sci-fi film too due to the mythical teeth in the vagina thing. BUT imdb.com added this movie in the comedy genre too. what's so farny about a va-jay-jay that bites?
well, to me, it might be written by some guy who's afraid of getting into 3rd base with girls or something and created this whole ba-jing-ko horror movie.
OR, it might just created some sick feminists who's so into abstinence and wrote this story to scare little girls into NOT having sex until you met the right person.. or scaring little boys into NOT having sex coz you never know who's hooha is guarded by this deadly chastity belt. And Yes, never to bet with your bros about having sex with a gal... it might bring fatal consequences.
Or, it's just one of those urban myths regarding those nuclear plant stories... like genetic mutations and all... IT might just be a campaign against the government to stop using nuclear power plants.. or something...
On way or another, this movie is pointless... Why did i watch it you ask? coz i'm too free that's why... wonder how it got nominated in the Sundance Festival, Geraldmer Flm Fest and Gotham Award, whatever that is.
*snoooze*....
Off I go... to conquer.. i mean.. watch another lame moviee!!!

The Golden Compass
I don't know why... the part where Nicole Kidman told the gal about the 'little snip' to separate the demons from the kids reminded me of circumcisions. Especially when she said something about "while the kids are still young and innocent..." and "it is to rid of unhappy and dirty thoughts in the future"... like... WHOa.....
Are there any deeper meaning hidden inside the film?
p/s: The movie's full or Brunettes. Soooooo Jewish.

Skins, Season 1 & 2
Location: Bro's Room.
I just finished watching Skins Season 1 and Season 2... and bOy, was it an emotional journey.
All I can say is, kids these days are really not as simple/innocent compared to the people back in the days.
the critics said something about skins being a teenage drama, not meant for teenagers.
It's totally out of this world, i might say.
Why is it so intriguing?
Other than my obsessive behavior on all the wrong matters (ie: obsession on films, but not interested in the technical side of anything...) I find that the kids in this series are totally gorgeous... The only conventional beauty's Effy, and that's only skin deep. Meaning, she looked conventional but does not actually act normal... wait... I don't even know what I'm typing...
I think secretly, everyone wanna take drugs, have random sex and most of all, have a buncha friends doing the same things you do, SO you don't feel weird, like an outsider.
*sigh* my life's so boring... the worst thing is that, the actors/actresses are actually around my age and LOOOK how they blossomed. Ishh...
anyways, i do really hope that there's a season 3 for Skins, though it doesn't seem like it's even foreseeable in the future...
Maxxie, the cute one...-- see, cute guys are either gay or married --
in the context of the series ofcoz
p/s: the cutest guy is Maxxie and the hottest gal would be Effy... well, that's my opinion. and....
THE FACT THAT CHRIS DIED!!!
WTF!!!
*edited*
I got this really hot promo of Skins Season 2... It's so beautifully done! Though it might give people the wrong idea what Skins is all about. The giant orgy did NOT happen in the series ya... anyhoo, I couldn't help but laughed a little when I saw Anwar getting laid.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDOHhPz2NyY
Compared to the promo for Season 1...

The movie's great... with the soundtrack. I couldn't say the same having them separated.

9 March 2008.

Today's the 9th of March 2008, aka the aftermath of Malaysia's 12th general election. Though yesterday was International Women's day, all the attention was placed on the progress of polling while women's issue was nothing more than being used by candidates as baits to fish women's votes.

I woke up feeling like Christmas today.
Turned on the tv and *blank*. The electricity's out. Smart condo management, people.
Anyways, there's this talk about riots and rallies etc happening around the nation today. This suspicion arisen among the public coz there's been a little but evident shift in M'sia's political landscape... Though it may be small, it created a tsunami in Malaysia's political sector.

I'm really curious and can't wait to see what lies ahead, what will change...
Especially what will happen in my hometown, Ipoh.
On a totally different topic here. I watched American History X yesterday. In short, it's a great movie.

It's partly due to Edward Norton's extremely convincing acting skill; other than that, I feel that people today can relate to the idea behind this movie made in 1998, about 10 years ago.

It so happened that I have the privileged of being forced into studying about WW1 in my first sem. To know about fascism and all these awesome epochs (cruel it might seem, but you still can't deny the fact these thoughts of grandeur were magnificent) that defined the world we're living in now...

In a way, I understand this movie the way I understood it and i can't help but think, what if some random Malaysian were to take this fascist idea a little too far, this can happen on our soil too... Gangsters, Activists, Mat Rempit gone wild... take your pick.

All in all, it's true that "hate's a baggage, life's too short to be pissed off all the time".

So Asshole, I forgive you.
For now.

Reality TV Hell's Kitchen Edition

It's amazing... Take a talented (mildly) good-looking (given that he's aged) world renowned Chef, a buncha contestants who are monetarily-motivated booooom you'll have people bossing everyone around, foul language threw around ALOT, conspiracy and coalition trying to stage someone.

Ok, coalition is not very appropriate here but hey, every american's widely known of profanity (that's what i got from the televisions). I just finished season 1 and it's great so far~

Another Leftlet from the Movie Trunk.
Location: B12.3a, Sunway.
"I now pronounce you husband and husband, you may now kiss your husband." If I can vote a movie, Best Comedy of the year would be this! Now I Pronounce You Chuck and Larry is hilarious!!
I see a trend happening here. Every year Adam Sandler will come out with a killer BIG MOVIE and shock the whole worlds. That's why movies in the past like Anger Management, Click (especially) have been so successful in the past. It's all about the Quality, not Quantity baby~ I'm not sure if Happy Madison belongs to him...
Anyways, after all the talk, presentations, researches about this binary projection (female vs male and nothing else) heterosexuality was like those Chinese prostitutes, everywhere and nowhere. It's too common nowadays, people need something ELSE to laugh about.
The producer: "Hey, homosexuality is 'In' right now. Why not put some smoking HOT firemen from Brooklyn and make them, well, GAY. That'd be fun!" and Ta-da, a brand new chart topping hit.
Brokeback Mountain marks the watershed of the film industry. It's like the bible for all those subsequent movies that film about gays or lesbians (do you realise that lesbians are not as amusing as gays?).
Ok, back to the movie, Adam Sandler's movies have a way of cracking you up so hard at the beginning and make you leave the cinema with happy tears. This movie is no different. There's a few things that are worth mentioning.
Remember that Hot Chicks guy? The really scrawny looking, awkwardly amusing with his huge feminine eyes? He's Taiwanese or something in this movie and HILARIOUS! I trace his face i my database at first until he speaks. Funny I tell you!!!
Then there's Jessica Biel, HOT man~ The Boob grabbing part was certainly funny as hell. Cannot imagine how was the environment on set while filming. All those bystanders (Mr JT included) must be so jealous (provided that they haven't got to 2nd base, which I doubt). Ohhh, and then there's Lance Bass. My gawd!! I wanted to say that he's hot with his dreamy eyes but there's just something women-ish about him. Like maybe it's because of him coming out of the closet that made it more appropriate for him to appear on this movie (since it's about gays). I seriously haven't seen him on screen for some time now, since 'On the Line'
This is definitely a melodramatic (imo) Chick Flick where guys can participate too.

About a few emo Australians being affected by the whole Viet Nam War experience. Tida-Yada.
I think that half the people who watched were just to see pre-Cruise Nicole (in Ben Ben's Words) and the other 75% just watched because they were forced to ie: most of us who watched that day.
"Nicole Kidman (Barry Otto) and Nicholas Eadie Star in this internationally acclaimed drama set against the backdrop of beatlemania, flower-power deduced euphoria".

Water, Food and Me.
Location: B12,3A, Sunway, Malaysia.
I love food. Love eating them. I love water, being in them and having them in me. I like guys...
Anyways, I eat and the amount is based on my mood. For example, I eat when I'm extremely happy, like if I finish some sort of assignments. I eat when I feel depressed, chocolates especially. I eat coz obviously I NEED it, duh. I eat because I feel like eating it. Sometimes it's hard not to feel tempted when sumptuous food are presented to me. All in all, I LOVE FOOD. omg...
Like I can't not eat if I'm doing nothing or watching tv. It's just wrong. Yet sometimes I can go on a day long without eating if I was pre-occupied/ busy doing things.
So, I was googling, finding out what is the name for 'a person who loves to eat and loves food very much'. Surprisingly, I can't find anything.
I mean, I won't die without food for a day. I 'm not like totally obsessed with food. I don't know if I have eating disorder.
Anyways, been watching 'Dead Like Me' lately. Cool series. They have this really cool reaper intro of each series. Unlike House's. So Uncool...
p/s: The top 3 pick up lines that have success rates as high as Brad Pitt and I getting together.
1. Wow, beautiful legs you have there. When will they open?
2. Do you believe in love at first sight? Or should I walk by again.
3. Do either of you work in Fed-ex? Coz I can't help but seeing you girls catching out my package.
